FloydFest adds Gov’t Mule, Tyler Childers and The Mother Hips to 2018 lineup
Warren Haynes is returning to FloydFest, this time leading his longtime blues-rock-jazz-jam outfit, Gov’t Mule.
Also added to the lineup are alt-country upstart Tyler Childers and blues-rocking The Mother Hips, according to news the festival is sending out this morning to promote FloydFest 18:Wild.
Haynes played the fest in 2016, fronting his “Ashes and Dust” project, which included the mighty Jeff Sipe on drums on a jazz/rock/Americana tip. Haynes’ former Allman Brothers compadre, Gregg Allman, was to follow him on stage that Saturday night, but fell ill in Roanoke and had to cancel. Allman died in May 2017.
It will be the first time on the mountain for Childers and The Mother Hips. We’ve added them to our Youtube playlist with previously announced headliners Foster The People, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Infamous Stringdusters, Old Crow Medicine Show, Antibalas, ZZ Ward, Son Little, Greta Van Fleet, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of The Real, Leftover Salmon, Keller Williams, Devan Gilfillian, Nikki Lane, Langhorne Slim, No BS! Brass, My Radio and The Floorboards and a bunch more.
It’s got all the makings of an epic Wild time. It’s set for July 25-29, at the usual spot.
